IT'S NORMAL.
IT'S NORMAL.
Pain during intercourse. Tailbone pain. Pain with sitting, cycling, or exercise. Chronic pelvic pain is real, it has a physical source, and it responds to skilled manual therapy and targeted pelvic floor treatment. You don't have to live with it.

Understanding the Condition
WHAT IS PELVIC PAIN?
Pelvic pain encompasses a range of conditions involving pain in the pelvis, perineum, or surrounding structures. It is frequently under-investigated and undertreated. The pelvic floor musculature — when hypertonic or poorly coordinated — is often the primary driver, even when the pain is attributed to other causes.
Dyspareunia (Painful Intercourse): Pain during or after intercourse. Often driven by hypertonic pelvic floor muscles or vulvar tissue sensitivity. Highly responsive to manual therapy and progressive desensitization.
Vulvodynia / Vestibulodynia: Chronic vulvar pain without identifiable cause. Pelvic floor hypertonicity and central sensitization are the primary drivers. PT is the most evidence-supported treatment.
Coccydynia (Tailbone Pain): Pain at the coccyx from a fall, childbirth, or prolonged sitting. Internal coccyx mobilization by a trained pelvic PT is often dramatically effective.
Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome: Ongoing pelvic pain affecting daily life. Often involves hypertonic pelvic floor, central sensitization, and connective tissue restrictions. Requires comprehensive PT assessment.
Treatment Approach
HOW WE TREAT IT
Pelvic pain treatment requires a trauma-informed, patient-paced approach. We work within your comfort at every step — the goal is to restore function without increasing pain or distress.
01
Education & Downtraining
Pain science education, breathing techniques, and manual therapy to release hypertonic pelvic floor muscles. Many patients experience significant relief in the first few sessions.
02
Desensitization & Progressive Loading
Gradual exposure to previously painful positions or activities, pelvic floor coordination training, and manual therapy to address connective tissue restrictions.
03
Function Restoration
Return to pain-free intercourse, exercise, and daily activity. Self-management tools for long-term maintenance.
Typical TimelineVariable — 8–16 weeks for most presentations. Significant improvement typically seen within 6 sessions.
