What Is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?
YOUR PELVIC FLOOR
IS A MUSCLE GROUP.
IT CAN BE TREATED.
Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support your bladder, uterus, and bowels. When these muscles become weak, tight, or imbalanced, the symptoms can range from mildly inconvenient to life-altering. Most women are told to just do Kegels — and most of the time, that's not the answer.
Pelvic Floor PT Is For You If You Experience
Bladder Leakage — leaking when you laugh, sneeze, cough, jump, or exercise
Pelvic Pain — discomfort after childbirth, during activity, or without clear cause
Prolapse — a sensation of heaviness, pressure, or bulging in your pelvic region
Painful Intercourse — discomfort or pain during sex
Pelvic Instability — weakness or instability during movement, exercise, or daily activity
These symptoms are common — but they are not normal. And they are very treatable with the right approach. Most women see significant improvement within a few sessions.
Pelvic Floor & Active Women
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO
CHOOSE BETWEEN FITNESS
AND CONTINENCE.
Pelvic floor dysfunction is extremely common in active women — and almost universally undertreated. It is not something you just accept. Dr. Kira's approach is built specifically around getting you back to the activities you love, without modification, limitation, or leaks.
01
Leaking During Exercise
Bladder leaks while running, jumping, lifting weights, or doing any high-impact activity. This is the most common complaint Dr. Kira treats — and one of the most responsive to pelvic floor PT. Most patients resolve this completely.
02
Pelvic Pain After Workouts
Discomfort or pain in your pelvic region after running, cycling, heavy lifting, or other intense activity. Often dismissed as "normal soreness" — it isn't. This is a signal that your pelvic floor is not managing load the way it should be.
03
Prolapse During Activity
The feeling of pelvic pressure, heaviness, or bulging during exercise or heavy lifting. You do not have to stop lifting or running. With the right rehab, most women with prolapse return to full activity — including heavy barbell work.
Dr. Kira's approach is different: she doesn't just address the pelvic floor in isolation. She identifies the areas of weakness and dysfunction above and below it — your hips, core, and movement patterns — that are contributing to the problem, and builds a program that makes your whole body stronger in the process.
Dr. Kira's Approach
WHOLE BODY.
NOT JUST
PELVIC FLOOR.
Dr. Kira is dedicated to helping women achieve their health and fitness goals — no matter the challenge. Her approach goes beyond the pelvic floor itself: she addresses the full system of muscles, movement patterns, and load management that determines how your pelvic floor performs under stress.
Holistic, Whole-Body Approach. The pelvic floor doesn't work in isolation — it works as part of your entire core and hip system. Dr. Kira assesses and treats the full picture, not just the symptom site.
Tailored Treatment Plans. Every patient is different — your anatomy, your training history, your goals. Your plan is built specifically for you and updated as you progress. No generic protocol, no printout of 10 exercises.
60-Minute Sessions, 1-on-1. Every appointment is a full hour with Dr. Kira directly. Hands-on manual therapy, assessment, exercise programming — all in one session, all from your Doctor of PT.
