The menopause factor

Bone loss accelerates dramatically in the years around menopause due to the decline in estrogen. The decade following menopause is when most of the osteopenia and osteoporosis risk accumulates. What building bone actually requires

Progressive resistance training, with loads that feel challenging and that increase over time, is what drives bone formation. Starting from zero, with supervision and an appropriate progression, is completely feasible and has been done successfully with women in their 70s and 80s.

Bone remodeling is slow. A meaningful change in bone density takes consistency and it takes time. But it does happen!
