ACL TEAR
REHAB THAT GETS
YOU BACK TO SPORT.
An ACL tear is one of the most significant sports injuries you can have — but it's not a career ender. The outcome depends almost entirely on the quality of the rehab. We treat both conservative (non-surgical) ACL management and post-ACL reconstruction recovery.

Understanding the Condition
WHAT IS AN ACL TEAR?
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the four major ligaments of the knee, running diagonally through the middle of the joint and controlling rotational stability. ACL tears most commonly occur during sudden deceleration, pivoting, or landing — sports like soccer, basketball, skiing, and CrossFit have the highest incidence.
Grade 1 — Sprain: Ligament is stretched but intact. Conservative management with PT is highly effective.
Grade 2 — Partial Tear: Partial disruption of fibers. May or may not require surgery depending on instability and activity demands.
Grade 3 — Complete Tear: Full rupture. Surgical reconstruction is typically recommended for athletes — conservative management is an option for lower-demand individuals.
ACL Reconstruction Recovery: Post-surgical rehab following patellar tendon, hamstring, or cadaver graft reconstruction. The rehab is the treatment.
Treatment Approach
HOW WE TREAT IT
ACL rehab is highly protocol-driven but demands clinical precision in execution. We follow evidence-based timelines while adapting to your tissue response, strength progression, and psychological readiness.
01
Phase 1 — Acute Management
Reduce swelling, restore range of motion, reactivate the quad, and protect the graft or healing ligament. Full weight-bearing is typically restored within days.
02
Phase 2 — Strength & Neuromuscular Control
Progressive quad and hamstring loading, single-leg strength, and neuromuscular re-education. Hip strength is critical here — the glutes protect the knee under load.
03
Phase 3 — Return to Sport Testing
Plyometrics, change of direction, sport-specific drills, and objective strength testing (limb symmetry index) before clearance. We don't guess — we test.
Typical Timeline9–12 months for full return to cutting sports. Conservative management: 3–6 months depending on grade and demands.
